Top Ten Books On My Fall 2013 TBR List

10.  The Time Traveler’s Wife

This book has actually been on my list for like 2 years so yeah. I started it near the beginning of the year and then just felt like it wasn’t the right time for some reason. I feel like it’s a cool weather type of book. I want to cuddle up with a quilt and some hot tea and read this while it’s raining.

9.  Jubilee

To be honest this has been on so many of my TBR lists for the last year. It’s another one of the books on the Clutch magazine challenge I am partaking in.  It’s around 512 pages so tackling this book is a definite commitment.

8. The Fault In Our Stars

By John Green

I love John Green the person but the one foray into his books I did not love John Green the writer.  I tried to read Will Grayson Wil Grayson and I put it down because it just wasn’t for me .I am not much of a YA reader so I chalk up WGWG to that but,  everyone I’ve talked to about  TFIOS raves about it. Recently the e-book was on sale and so I figured it was the perfect excuse to finally pick it up.

7. Half of a Yellow Sun

By Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

This one has been made into a movie starring Thandie Newton and Chiwetel Ejiofor both of whom I love so much. Unfortunately I’ve hear some not so great reviews about the movie but, nothing but love for the book. It’s also another one from the clutch magazine challenge

6.  The Edge of Reason (Bridget Jones #2)

I read Bridget Jones last year and I really enjoyed it. I keep putting this off because I feel like it’s a fall/winter book for some reason. It should bring some much needed levity since most of these others are kind of deep.

5.  The Black Rose

I have had this book for several years and I have no idea why it’s taken me this long to get to it. It’s about Madame CJ Walker the first back female millionaire. The time is so right as I am helping my sister open a salon. Madame CJ Walker made her millions running a beauty business so it’s really fitting.

4. The Magicians Assistant

I actually picked this up a couple months ago but got caught up in some other books and put it back down. It was a touch slower than I liked but the story involves deep dark family secrets which I love so, I’m gonna give it another go.

3.  Precious

By Precious Williams

From what I can tell Precious has 2 memoir type books this one another called  ColorBlind. From what I can tell this one (Precious) seems to focus on her birth mother (she was adopted) and ColorBlind seems to focus more on her adoptive mother. Either way they both sound fascinating and like something I can relate to.

2. The White Boy Shuffle

This is a really recent find I just happened upon it at a thrift store. It looks like it will be a pretty funny read and it’s based on a true story.

1. Men We Reaped

I just found out I won this through goodreads/firstreads yesterday. I have had Salvage the Bones on my list almost since it came out but looks like this one is first. It’s another true story and it seems like it will be a sad read as well.
